Lighthouse Baptist Church was started in June, 1983, by Pastor Jimmy Burt. The first service had 12 people who met in an old, rented house in Remerton, Georgia. One month later, Lighthouse Christian School started with eight students. In April, 1984, the church and school moved to its current location on Bemiss Road. Since then, the pastor said the church has been in one building or improvement project after another. According to Pastor Burt, it’s now time to add Lighthouse Bible Seminary to the ministry.
